Are Philippine nursing degrees recognised in the UK?+

Philippine nursing graduates can apply for NMC registration in the UK. They must meet NMC's requirements: IELTS Academic 7.0 overall (6.5 in all bands from 2023), complete the Computer Based Test (CBT), and pass the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE). Many Philippine-trained nurses successfully complete this pathway — it is demanding but well-established.

How much does it cost to study nursing in the Philippines from Nigeria?+

A realistic first-year budget for a BSN nursing programme is PHP 270,000–490,000 (approximately £4,000–£7,200), covering tuition and living costs. This is the most affordable nursing pathway in the ZSR portfolio.

Do I need IELTS to study in the Philippines?+

Most Philippine universities do not require IELTS for admission since English is the medium of instruction. However, if your goal is UK NMC registration after graduation, you will need IELTS Academic 7.0 at that stage — ZSR advises starting IELTS preparation during your studies, not after graduation.

Can I work while studying in the Philippines?+

Student visa holders in the Philippines are not generally permitted to work. This is the same constraint as Thailand. ZSR advises on this explicitly — the Philippines is primarily suitable for students whose families can fund the full programme.
