ZSR was founded in Idimu, Lagos in 2009 as a student recruitment agency. Too many bright Nigerian students were losing opportunities, not because they lacked ability or ambition, but because the guidance available to them was often unqualified, unclear, or unaccountable.
Photoshopped admission letters. Inflated processing fees. Visa interviews students walked into completely cold. Schools nobody could verify. We watched it happen — friends, neighbours, family members — and decided that "agent" needed to mean something different in this country.
So we built it differently. ZSR pursued ICEF training and certification as an international standard for professional student counselling. We built direct relationships with institutions, created a fee structure families could understand, and adopted one rule we have never broken: if we would not recommend a programme to our own family, we do not recommend it to yours.
More than 16 years later, ZSR has three offices across Nigeria and Rwanda. Our Kigali team serves students and institutions across East Africa, while our Lagos offices manage Nigeria and other West African markets. The agency has evolved. The standard has not.
